Leane and Mineries

Two British Isles sunset images. They both demonstrate the beauty of golden hour light as the sun goes down.

The first is from Lough Leane, Killarney. The word Leane apparently means ‘learning’ and may be a reference to the teaching and learning that took place at Innisfallen Abbey – a monastery on an island in the lake. This image was taken on 1st June 2016 around 9pm while sharing a good meal and Irish beer with some of our close Swiss family members.

The second is closer to home at a very small pond, Mineries Pond, near Priddy in Somerset. This one was taken close to sunset around 5pm on 13th Dec 2017. This is part of a nature reserve on the site of old lead mine workings.
