Peak Pilgrimage

On a recent trip to Devon and Cornwall one of my objectives was to visit the Venford Falls double waterfall. This beautiful waterfall is rather hidden and is located to the west of Ashburton in the Dartmoor National Park. It is close to the Venford Reservoir. Driving to the reservoir from the Ashburton direction park in the car park on the other side of the dam. Skirt around the rather hidden waterworks along a grassy path until you reach two hawthorn trees. You may hear the sound of the waterfall below and even catch a glimpse of it. This is where to descend a steep slope to the Venford Brook and the waterfall. For us it was a beautiful day and we were quite alone.
